dlp sla

This is DLP-SLA you havent heard of it? Yes, a lot of letters for what is actually short blend to stand for 3D print. The DLP-SLA refers to digital light processing stereolithography. This is pretty cool technology if you think about it, where we are molding liquid with the power of light. Isn’t that really cool? It's like magic, but it´s all science!

So, what does that mean? Imagine you have a liquid that solidifies when light hits it. In DLP-SLA, a projector projects light down into the liquid resin. The light cures the resin in stages to build a three-dimensional object, one thin layer at a time like baking a cake. It is called “mask projection,” because the projector has a special pattern of light. With the use of a patter, only those parts that have to change into solid is hardened in the resin while others remain as such.

DLP-SLA Explained

None rigorously as DLP-SLA is a form of stereolithography which is the procedure to mold a material using light from one state (liquid) to another (solid). Stereolithography exists in multiple different forms, with DLP-SLA being one of these many variants. Laser SLA and Standard SLA are the other types. Each works in their own way, but they all serve the common purpose of turning liquids into solid shapes.
